India cautions students against enrolling in Chinese universities

The Top Medical Education Regulator of India on Tuesday warns students against registration at Chinese universities because the country continues to ban the entry of foreign students remember the Pandemic Covid-19.

Warning by the National Medical Commission (NMC) was issued after the Ministry of India’s external affairs was warned that several Chinese Medical Universities invited applications to enter the MBBS program for the current and upcoming academic years – even though there was a ban on foreign students entering China.

This means that students who enroll in these Chinese universities this academic year is likely to take online classes for the near future, and, as a law, only an online medical degree that is not recognized in India, said NMC.

NMC notification shows that thousands of Indian Medical students studying in China stranded in India due to travel restrictions for more than two years, endangering their careers.

In the context of notification of acceptance from the University of China, NMC said, “Every prospective students need to be realized that the Government of the People’s Republic of China has imposed strict travel restrictions after Covid-19 and suspended all visas since November 2020”.

A large number of international students including Indian students have not been able to return to China to continue their studies because of this limitation. So far,
