Australian media channel failed to recognize British Prime Minister Liz Truss, when he arrived at Westminster Abbey for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday. The mixture took place at Channel 9 when covering the funeral, attended by the Prime Minister and President from all over the world.

During broadcast, when Australian TV presenter Tracy Grimshaw and Peter Overton were told that significant processions” were approaching Westminster Abbey, they struggled to identify who they saw.

Who’s this?” MS Grimshaw asks when MS Truss arrives with her husband Hugh O’Leary. “It’s hard to identify, maybe a little noble. I can’t identify them,” answered Mr. Overton.

MS Grimshaw then continued, “We can’t see everyone, unfortunately. They look like they are local officials, difficult to see.”

The couple then seemed to be aware of their mistakes, because after a short break Overton told the viewer that the mysterious guest was actually British Prime Minister Liz Truss. “I was only told that Liz Truss, a new prime minister in the distance we could see, jumped out of the car,” he said.

This air error is quickly taken by internet users who react with entertainment. “Tells the comments of the funeral of Australia who called Liz Truss and her husband” Minor Royals “because they don’t know who they are,” wrote a user.

Australian media who try to identify Liz Truss when he entered Westminster and tried his best with ‘maybe Minor Royals’ or ‘Local Officials’ made me chuckle,” wrote another. “Peter Overton and Tracy Grimshaw did not know who Liz Truss was – the new British Prime Minister – during the direct coverage of the funeral of the Queen was very messing,” the third commented.

Liz Truss became the British Prime Minister on September 6 – two days before the death of Queen Elizabeth II. He replaced Boris Johson after the leadership contest during the summer.
