India, Pakistan send help to Afghanistan after deadly earthquake

India and Pakistan have sent humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan where strong earthquakes have killed more than 1,000 people.

India said he had sent a technical team to the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, to coordinate the delivery of aid, while food trucks and other needs arrived from Pakistan, where vibrations were also felt in several areas.

The Indian Foreign Ministry on Thursday said that he had sent 27 tons of supplies to two flights to be handed over to the International Assistance Institute and the Afghan Red Crescent community.

India said it would follow in the footsteps of the United Nations in deciding whether to recognize the Taliban government.

Most of South Asia is seismically active because the tectonic plate known as the Indian plate pushes the north into the Eurasian plate.

In 2015, an earthquake hit northeast of remote Afghanistan, killing several hundred people in Afghanistan and near North Pakistan.
