Do not want anyone to play spoiler in Afghanistan, says Pakistan
The day after the Indian delegation first visited Kabul since the Taliban took over last year, Pakistan on Friday said that it was not like any country that played the role of spoilers in Afghanistan.
For the first time since the arrest of the Taliban power in Kabul, India on Thursday sent a team led by a senior diplomat to Afghanistan to oversee the delivery of his humanitarian assistance and meet with senior Taliban members.
The team, led by JP Singh, the Points of the Foreign Ministry for Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran, met with senior Taliban members and held a discussion about Indian humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs India said.
On Friday, Pakistani Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar, while handling a weekly press briefing, said that Pakistan’s view of the role of India in Afghanistan was historically famous
Pakistan’s past was permitted as a special sign of Indian wheat transportation at the request of Afghan Afghan, he said when asked about the delegation and reported that India would reopen their embassy in Afghanistan.
Pakistan in November 2021 approved the transportation of 50,000 MTs wheat drugs and saved life as assistance from India to Afghanistan through the Wagah border on an extraordinary basis for humanitarian purposes.
India has committed 50,000 MT wheat for Afghanistan due to lack of food in a country hit by war. Pakistan has agreed to facilitate Afghanistan and India through safe and free commodity transportation.
During the briefing, Iftikhar said “Pakistan does not want any country to play spoilers on the stable and prosperous Afghanistan road.”
I think what we want and aspire to Afghanistan that is peaceful, stable and prosperous. And we do not want to see anyone who plays a negative role in any sense, or the role of spoilers, in this overall context, he said.
For questions about the ongoing back door diplomacy between Pakistan and India, the spokesman said that he had nothing to share about this.
For the question of the new meeting was held by the Commissioner of Air Indus Pakistan and India, he said Pakistan had a legitimate position and justified about certain problems and we raised it forcibly and with punishment at this meeting.
And our hope is that, objections or observations that have been submitted by the Pakistan in the context of the Permanent Indus Commission, in the spirit of the correct agreement, and the work of this commission, we hope that India will come in responding sincerely, so that the purpose of the commission and The meeting was fulfilled, he said.
