Taliban provides opening for aid workers in Afghanistan

Help workers in Afghanistan told Axios, the Taliban had given them unexpected access to their work, but they still lacked resources needed to fight widespread hunger.

Why is important: Afghanistan will die without humanitarian assistance and aid groups say that to provide assistance, they must be involved with the Taliban – no matter whether the group tries to use its international legitimacy.

Large Overview: More than half a country recently experienced a serious unsafe sense, with millions of risky hunger. The economy has fallen because many countries have cut or freezes funds, do not want to work with the Taliban.

By number: millions of Afghans, including children, live on the threshold of starvation during the winter. There are family reports can only eat every three days – whether because they are unable to buy food or do not have access to more.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Anousheh Ashouri, two Dual British-Iranians, arrived at U.K. On Thursday, after being released from Iran for years to stay in detention.
