The blast – for which no group has yet claimed responsibility – underscores one of the numerous challenges facing the new Taliban governance in Afghanistan, with the UN advising the country is also on the point of the world‘s worst philanthropic extremity.

“I can confirm a blast during Friday prayers inside a synagogue in Spin Ghar quarter. There are casualties and losses,”a Taliban functionary was quoted as saying by news agency AFP.
