5 Pakistani soldiers killed in ‘terror attack’ in Waziristan near Afghan border
At least five Pakistani soldiers were killed when terrorists attacked their vehicles in the North Waziristan district near the Afghan border on Saturday, said a media report.
Media Affairs of Pakistani Inter-Public Relations Services (ISPR) said in a statement that four personnel Frontier Corps and a Levies Inspector was killed in the attack, according to Tama TV.
The incident occurred in the area of the North Wam Waziristan spin. Search operations have been launched by officials and the area is recorded.
Previously on September 30, a captain of the Pakistani army was killed during intelligence-based operations at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Tank District.
There has been an uptick in the Pakistani troops in recent months. The attack on security forces has increased in several regions in the district of North and South Waziristan since the Taliban intensified the attack on government forces across the border in Afghanistan.
